Incredibly scenic, with white sand shores and picture-perfect sunsets, the beach is perfect for leisurely strolls and sunbathing.
In the surrounding vicinity are attractions like Nathon Walking Street. Held at the seafront plaza in Nathon, the venue comes alive every Saturday evening with myriad street food and souvenir stalls. In-villa yoga and spa sessions can be arranged at your request, but venues like Marga Yoga, a beachfront yoga studio or the clifftop Baan Thai Spa also offer incredible experiences.
Nikki Beach Club, known for its impressive Sunday brunches is just four minutes' drive away. We'd also recommend Big John's Restaurant and The Virgin Coast Restaurant for beachfront dining, as well as The Island View Restaurant and The Five Islands for fine dining experiences accompanied by breathtaking sea views. For some of the freshest seafood dishes on the island, take a 20-minute drive down south to Thongkrut Fisherman's Village, where you'll find a variety of seafood restos and eateries.
10/10We could not fault our one week stay at Baan Chao Lay. It is ideal for anyone wanting to holiday in a quiet location that is only 20 minutes from the more touristy areas of Koh Samui. The villa is maintained and managed very well and the staff were all excellent, especially our full-time chef. He cooked the best Thai food we have ever eaten day after day. The villa manager was a delightful lady who offered plenty of local advice and was generally a helpful person. The beach is not ideal for swimming in July, but we spent all our time in the pool anyway. It was a very child-friendly villa and the staff were all extremely pleasant.
10/10Hey Anna, We had an absolutely lovely time at Baan Chao Lay and would definitely recommend it to other friends. We'd also very much like to come back again or in one of your other villas. The staff were all really lovely. Overall there was a really nice balance of having them around when we needed them, but also having some time where we had the place to ourselves. Stand outs were Lek who was friendly and very helpful. She also took the time to look out for the kids when we (the adults) were having our meals. She also made the effort to go over and above, giving us smoothies/drinks throughout the day. Also Chef... The food was truly 6 star. We were thoroughly treated.
